OVER 30 YEARS OF TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching in education for over 30yrs,
this includes Adult Education, Special Educational Needs, Dyslexia Learners and at the Dyslexia Club.
I have taught learners who have been anxious and disengaged with school for numerous reasons.
The subjects taught include English, Maths, Arts and Crafts.
Supporting Dyslexic Learners
My particular specialism is supporting learners who are Dyslexic by developing and interacting in a multisensory teaching methodology.
I have created bespoke boxes for each child to encourage learning and the enjoyment of reading.
The learners will be able to complete activites from their box, which will help them to develop and understand their own strategies to enhance their learning journey.
My ambition is to encourage the enjoyment and confidence of young learners with their reading skills as this will enhance all areas of study.
Reading skills, comprehension, speaking and listening, developing confidence and communication skills
Purple Spider, The Learning Bus was created to deliver reading skills activities, comprehension, speaking and listening, whilst, developing confidence and communication skills. We use a variety of methods including precision teaching of words, mind mapping, multi-sensory learning, whiteboards, rhyme and syllabus work to make reading fun.
We can also offer craft activities, wellness courses to support learners to re-engage with school. These learners may be anxious to return to larger classes.
Bite size topics delivered in a fun and interactive way
We are delivering 1 hour sessions to the learners. This will be taught in small bite size topics to engage learners in a multi sensory method of teaching which will also support Dyslexic learners.
An exceptionally exciting way to support our young learners and concentrate on key basic fundamental needs to enhance their future learning. We also feel due to the difficult year it is a really fun and interactive way of accessing education and may break down barriers for our younger generation to re engage with life in a interactive less pressured environment.
